This is the final installment in this series.
Summer is a great time to explore the art spread across the Bluffton community – especially for viewers unable to visit art galleries elsewhere in Ohio.
As a weekly series, The Icon has featured the art created by John Peter Klassen, a long-time Bluffton College art professor.
For some viewers, this series is familiar. For others, it may be a first-time experience.
As Bluffton becomes a more friendly bicycle village, more incentives become available to encourage bike use here.
The most recent is the creation of 17 bicycle parking spaces to be installed this fall along the Main Street business district.
The bike racks come as a result of a $5,000 grant from the Allen County Health Department’s "Creating Healthy Communities.”
Those 17 parking spaces are planned for:
• Town hall (3 spaces)
• Presbyterian alley (4)
• Edward Jones alley on North Main (5)
• Book ReViews alley (5)
Governor DeWine announced details for Ohio's forthcoming case reporting order for K-12 schools.
Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, parents or guardians and school staff should notify their school within 24 hours of receiving a positive test or a clinical diagnosis.
Within 24 hours after receiving that notification, the school should notify other parents and guardians about that case in writing, providing as much information as possible without releasing protected health information.
The school must also notify their local health department within 24 hours.
Earlier this summer, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced every registered Ohio voter would receive an absentee ballot request form in the mail. Those request forms are arriving in mailboxes this week – one week ahead of schedule.
Ohioans who want to vote by absentee ballot must send their request form back to their county board of elections in order to receive an absentee ballot.
With the extended Bentley Road pathway construction on schedule, the Bluffton Pedestrian and Bike Pathway board will hold a virtual ribbon cutting at 4 p.m., Monday, Sept. 14, according to Richard Ramseyer, board chair.
Details on how to watch the ribbon cutting will be announced soon. Longtime pathway supporters John and Jenny Pilarowski will cut the ribbon officially opening the pathway.
