Bluffton schools launched the site earlier this month

There’s a new website in Bluffton and, while it’s still a work in progress, it’s impressive. It’s also very user friendly and easy to use on a cell phone.

Bluffton Exempted Village Schools launched its new website two weeks ago, Greg Denecker, superintendent, told The Icon.

The new sites link is www.blufftonschools.org

Created by Schoolpointe, based in Columbus, the firm has created websites for nearly 2,500 school districts in 39 states.

Here is the Bluffton council committee meeting schedule for the next few weeks:
• Personnel Committee – Wednesday, 7/15 at noon.
• Cemetery Board – Wednesday, 7/15 at 4:30 p.m.
• Streets, Lights, Alleys and Sidewalks – Wednesday, 7/15 at 5:30 p.m
• Finance Committee – Thursday, 7/23 at noon.
•The meetings will be held at the town hall.

In case time slipped away from you, the Village of Bluffton’s April 15 and June 15 estimated quarterly tax payments were extended to Wednesday, July 15, and that date looms on this week’s calendar.

Quarterly payments are due to the village when taxpayers owe more than S200 in non-withheld income tax. The quarterly payment program is new this year.

Summer is a great time to explore the art spread across the Bluffton community – especially for viewers unable to visit art galleries elsewhere in Ohio.

As a weekly series, The Icon will feature the art created by John Peter Klassen, a long-time Bluffton College art professor.

For some viewers, this series is familiar. For others, it may be a first-time experience.

Collecting questions from the public: Ask Me Anything

FROM ADA ICON - Ada SAFE (Schools Are For Everyone) 2020 announces the beginning of “AMA: COVID Questions,” which will allow members of the community to ask questions related to the novel coronavirus and COVID-19.

These questions will then be answered by a panel of local experts from the fields of immunology, epidemiology, medicine, psychology, and public health. AMA stands for "Ask Me Anything."

Ada SAFE 2020 hopes that the videos that result from this project can provide vital information for all community members as Ada prepares for the opening of schools this fall.
