Although school is off to a slow start in January, the January Bluffton school lunch menus are now posted on the Icon.

Bluffton Exempted Village Schools will have a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, Jan. 29.  Teachers and administrators will work on the implementation of the new “Common Core Curriculum Standards” with “Formative Instructional Practices.”  

Teachers and administrators will be receiving over 25 hours of training this school year to prepare for this future state adopted curriculum.

With Hancock County and Putnam County under Level 3 road emergencies, the following Blanchard Valley Health Systems medical offices and departments are now closed today:

Bluffton village offices are closed today (Monday). The Bluffton council meeting has been moved to Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 8 p.m., according to Dennis Gallant, mayor.

All parking restrictions are in affect. Police will be working with snow plows to keep streets opened as possible.

Residents are encouraged to stay home if possible. Hancock County is at a LEVEL 3, Putnam County is at a LEVEL 3, and Allen County is at a LEVEL 2 as of 8 a.m.

The following medical offices will be opening at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6. All appointments prior to 10 a.m. have been cancelled and will be rescheduled:

Allen County is in a Level 2 snow emergency.

Level 2: Roads are hazardous (including primary roads) with blowing and drifting snow a possibility. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be on these roadways. Employees should contact their employers to see if they should report to work.
