It wasn't a typical Bluffton November - weatherwise, according to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer.

During November 2011 rainfall was recorded at 5.03 inches; normal average rainfall for November is 2.83 inches.

The November 2011 average temperature was 46.6 degrees. The normal average for November is 40.4 degrees.

November witnessed the first snowfall of the season when it recorded 1.2 inches on Nov. 29.

The high temperature reading of the month was 70 on Nov. 8. The low for the month was 24 on Nov. 18.

Lots of holiday related activities are planned at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center this month, according to Tonya Meyers, director.

The Center will hold extended shopping hours: Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. until the weekend of Christmas.

Peanut brittle is available while the supply lasts. The Bluffton-made candy is available at the Center for $5 a pound. Another Christmas gift idea are Bluffton playing cards, based on historical photos representing Bluffton. Decks are $10 each, while supplies last.

QVC merchandise in Bluffton's newest business

Bluffton now has a brand-name outlet store. "missElaineous QVC Corner," an outlet for the QVC products opened earlier this fall in Polished Nail and Body Salon, 417 N. Main St.

Named for Elaine Fair, mother of Polished owner Joan Frederick, the business is the only one of its type in northwestern Ohio.

The Bluffton Relay for Life newsletter is now available for Icon viewers. The 2012 relay is June 22-23 at Bluffton University's Saltzman's Stadium.

According to relay planners, the Bluffton cross country team and track teams are the first team for next year's relay.

The 2012 event goal is $30,000.

According to Adam Blevins of the American Cancer Society, "As we sprint into another Relay season, we're looking for ideas and suggestions for our 2011 Relay theme. If you have one and would like to share - please let us know."
