The Bluffton Tree Commission will hold an Arbor Day tree planting at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 30, in the rear of the town hall property. This year the commission will honor retiring mayor Fred Rodabaugh.
The commission will plant a flowering cherry tree in his honor. The program is open to the public.
Bluffton's spring fire hydrant flushing will begin Monday, April 25.
"This will take us approximately two weeks to complete, Jan Basinger of the village water department told The Icon.
Basinger warns that the hydrant flushing could cause discoloration of water and possible taste issues. The discoloration and tasts issues should not last long, however.
If the resident runs their garden hose for several minutes it could help their water conditions improve more quickly, he said. "Residents should avoid doing laundry if they see us flushing in the area."

This driver is a real Buckeye fan. Notice that the driver uses a "T" instead of an "I." Probably means someone with an "I" beat him to the punch, but a "T" as a substitute in this case works. The Icon spotted this plate in Lima.
