Pandora council awarded a contract to Ward Construction for the purpose of street work in the village and for manhole and value repairs. Ward's bid of $54,370 for the project was the only bid received, according to Lana Burry, village fiscal officer.

June 14, 2011 at 7:00 PM at the Municipal Building with Mayor, John Schlumbohm, presiding.

After gathering together some of Bluffton's best musicians and vocalists, Pat Rodabaugh, representing the Bluffton Sesquicentennial Committee, is presenting "Bluffton's Brand of Broadway" at Yoder Hall at Bluffton University Friday and Saturday, July 1-2 at 7 p.m.

The show is free and includes selections from 15 Broadway musicals performed by local talent.

Everett Collier, Kevin Gratz, Kara Gratz, Sandy Miller, Kristi and Phil Shey, David Sycks and Rachael Lewis are just a handful of the performers on the program, which also features two male quartets.

If you missed one of Tuesday's sesquicentennial historical lecture, don't worry. Several repeats are on the Wednesday, June 29, calendar.

Vera E. Burkholder celebrates her 96th birthday Tuesday, June 28. She has been a life long resident of Bluffton, and worked at Triplett Electrical Instrument Co. for 20 years and graduated from Bluffton College.

She taught first grade at Lafayette School, and Allen East School for 19 years, and then retired.

She resides at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton. Her phone 419-643-8055.
