The Bluffton-Pandora Rotary changed its meeting schedule beginning this month. The Rotary will now meet the first and third Thursday mornings of each month at Jeanne's Kitchen in Bluffton at 7:30 a.m., according to Stan Schneck of the Rotary.

"The exception to this will be this month (July) when we will meet July 22 instead of July 15 due to a speaker that was booked previously," he said.

ICBA Independent Banker, the national magazine of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) recognized Citizens National Bank for posting one of the best year-end earnings in 2009 for ICBA member community banks with more than $500 million in assets.

This year's "ICBA 400" highlights the 20 top community bank performers based on two standard banking industry efficiency measures, five bank asset categories and two bank tax-status categories.

The magazine compiles its annual member rankings in its June issue from year-end FDIC call report data.

We spotted this Purple Heart plate on Main Street this week.

An opportunity for persons in the community who need unemployment assistance is planned at 10 a.m., Friday, July 23, at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center.

The event is being organized by Mark Neddean of Vance Street Apartments. According to the senior citizens newsletter, the event is to help those affected by recent or long-term unemployment.

Participating in the program are representatives from Allen County Job and Family Services, YMCA and the Allen County Food Bank.
