Work on the Bluffton Hospital construction project this week includes continuing the steel installation and framing of the two-story addition, which includes the new emergency department.
In addition, this week will see continuing masonry block installation for the interior elevator and stairwell, continuing the framing of new walls and hanging HVAC duct work for the new operating room.

"Bluffton's New View"
The Bluffton Writers' Group will hold its first meeting of 2010-11, according to Ruth Naylor of the Group. The meeting is at 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 13, at Maple Crest, Augsburger Road. Members will continue to meet from September through May 2011 on the second Monday of each month at 2 p.m. at Maple Crest. Persons wanting more information may contact Naylor. We thought Ohio had exclusive rights to the cardinal as the state bird. Indiana must have the same idea. The Icon spotted this bird in a university parking lot.
