FINDLAY__The Bluffton High School golf team finished 10th out of 11 teams in the tough Liberty-Benton Invitational at Sycamore Springs Golf Course in Findlay on Friday, August 7.
Van Buren won the tournament with 319 strokes, with the Pirates 48 shots off their pace.
Host Liberty-Benton came in second just three strokes behind Van Buren at 322, followed by Sylvania Southview (324), Upper Sandusky (334), Allen East (337) and Bellevue (340).
BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School boys golf team split a home Northwest Conference triangular match at the Bluffton Golf Club course on Thursday, August 6.
Visiting Columbus Grove (2-0, 2-0 NWC) won the event decisively with 156 strokes. Bluffton beat Crestview (0-2, 0-2 NWC) 176-206 in the other league opener.
The Pirate linksters, under head coach Richard Streicher, improved to 2-1 overall in dual matches and 1-1 in NWC action with the results.
The Bluffton High School boys golf team has opened its 2026 season with back-to-back events: the Pirates defeated Ft. Jennings in a dual match on August 3 and competed in the nine-team Elmwood Royal Invitational at Birch Run Golf Club on August 4.

The Pirate linksters won the dual match decisively by 39 strokes, 363 to 402, to start their campaign 1-0.
Bluffton’s Ethan Fifer won match medalist honors as he posted a 39-45=84 score over 18 holes.
