Girls bball: Bluffton 54 - Lincolnview 46

Bluffton girls' basketball team moved to 10-4 overall and 4-0 in the NWC tonight. The Pirates defeated Lincolnview on the road 54-46. Alivia Koenig led Bluffton with 27 points.

Tuesday night the Pirates travel to 7-1 Wapakoneta

(OTTAWA) - After eight wins in eight contests, Bluffton faced their stiffest test to date as they traveled to Ottawa-Glandorf. 

The Titans proved their mettle, earning a 76-55 victory and leaving both teams with 8-1 records. Mason Soper scored 20 and Luke Denecker 18 for Bluffton.  OG was led by Ben Westrick’s 23 points.

Bluffton travels to Elida on Saturday

(BLUFFTON) - The Lady Pirates improved to 8-3 at the halfway point of the regular season with a thorough thrashing of Upper Scioto Valley by a 74-31 score.  The Rams fell to 1-9 with the loss.

The Lady Pirates enter the second half of the season with an unblemished conference record at 3-0 and their next home game will be January 17 when they host Spencerville, a squad that knocked off the Pirates last season by a 55-50 count.

Deandre Nassar named MVP

Bluffton Wrestling turned in a spectacular performance at the Defiance Tri State Border Wars Tournament this weekend.  Deandre Nassar was named the Tournament’s Most Valuable Wrestler and won the 182 class.  Despite being one of the smallest schools in the field, the Pirate team finished 7th out of 42 teams from Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana.

(BLUFFTON) – The host Pirates won the McDonald’s Holiday Tournament for the fifth consecutive year with a 58-51 triumph over Arlington. Mason Soper scored a game high 19 points and earned the tournament Most Valuable Player honors.  Jared Piercefield and Luke Denecker joined Soper on the All Tournament Team.  The Pirates improved to 8-0 on the year.

Girls' basketball: Koenig scores 23, BHS falls on road

(ARCADIA) – A balanced Arcadia team effort handed Bluffton girls basketball their third loss of the season by a 54-42 count.  The host Redskins had four players in double figures scoring 13, 12, 10, and 10 points respectively.  Bluffton was led by Alivia Koenig’s 23 points.  Averey Rumer added 10 and Katie Prater 6.  Bluffton is now 7-3 overall and is off until the new year. The Pirates had a four game winning streak snapped.
