LIMA - The Bluffton boys tennis team competed in the Div. II sectionals at UNOH Thursday.

Bluffton junior Drew Wilson posted a first round win over Bath's Derek Inskeep. He then lost to Ada junior Isaac Spar in the second round.

Pirate Trey Boblitt lost 6-0, 6-2 in the first round. Zimmerman also lost in the singles first round.

Bluffton duo Eden Nygaard and Grant Klinger lost in the first doubles round, as did Mack Burner and Jordan Siefer.

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) has been resurveyed by the Ohio State Medical Association Focused Task Force on Accreditation and awarded accreditation for four years as a provider of Continuing Medical Education (CME) for physicians.

BVHS has been offering these educational opportunities since 1975, initially only for physicians. However, at BVHS any interested medical professionals such as medical students, nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants and more are invited to attend as well. 

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) has been awarded the 2019 Energy Efficiency Award by AEP Ohio. This award recognizes AEP Ohio customers that have done outstanding work participating in AEP Ohio energy efficiency programs. BVHS is one of only three health systems in Ohio to receive this recognition.

By excelling in these programs, BVHS has advanced the efficiency of its operations, buildings and patients by providing better lighting, greater comfort, greater productivity and energy cost savings.

Dunifon wins 300 hurdles; Stackhouse wins long jump

Bluffton High School boys' track team finished second in the Northwest Conference meet over the weekend. It was the second consecutive year that the boys were runners-up. The girls' team finished fourth.

Xavier Dunifon won the 300 hurdles for BHS in 39.8. Kylie Stackhouse won the long jump at 14-05.

Brings 30 teams and upward to 1,000 persons to town

A massive two-day youth soccer tournament will bring upward to 1,000 persons to Bluffton this weekend.

It’s the Bluffton Soccer American Cup event held Saturday and Sunday on the Bluffton University soccer fields. The Bluffton Soccer Club sponsors this annual two-day tournament.

According to Ron Koontz and Dan Lee, tournament directors, the weekend event includes 30 teams from Bluffton and surrounding communities. Competing teams are recreational U-12 and U-15.
