In the Bluffton practice of Blanchard Valley Obstetrics and Gynecology

During a noon break between seeing patients, the Icon caught up with Dr. Molly Senokozlieff, M.D., women’s health specialist. Her office is across from Bluffton Hospital in Blanchard Valley Obstetrics and Gynecology (formerly called Bluffton Woman’s Care).

When in Bluffton she may see 20 patients or more during the day, and her patient load had reached a dozen when we arrived. We talked quickly because one of her patients in Bluffton was in labor.

Constance "Connie" Sue Long, 48, died Jan. 23, 2019, at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus. Connie was born July 17, 1970, in Bluffton to Donald and Darlene (Lytle) Burkholder.  On May 6, 2000, she married David Long and he survives.

Connie graduated from Pandora-Gilboa High School and from the Ohio State Beauty Academy in Lima.  She had previously worked at Blanchard Valley Center in Findlay and volunteered at the Et Cetera in Bluffton. 

Connie was a member of the Leipsic Fishing and Hunting Club. 

Jonah Agner of The Food Store, frequent presenter at Bluffton Senior Citizens programs, gave a lesson in healthy comfort food on Jan. 23. Part of the "Our Version of Adult Learning" (OVAL), Agner provided how-to instructions and then fed those attending with Jane Agner sausage rolls and vegan chili.

Over 600 sophomores in Apollo Career Center’s 11-member district will visit Apollo during 411Blast, Friday, Jan. 25. Bluffton students will visit Apollo during the morning session.

This day is designed to expose students to possibilities and paths that are available for their career and/or college success. Students choose two programs of interest and then spend one-half day visiting those labs, meeting the instructors and participating in fun, interactive demos and activities. 

She was a member of the Descendants of the Mayflower

Helen C. Hilty, 105, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton, Ohio.  She was born June 21, 1913, to A. Elmer and Emma (Laibe) Campbell.  They both preceded her in death.

On July 6, 1940, she married Dr. Donald Hilty, who preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1989.
