So many choice, and you don't need to surf the web

Need a really great Christmas gift idea?

The Icon has an entire bag full of ideas. The best part is that you don't need to leave town to make the purchase. You don't even need to surf the Internet and pay one-day delivery prices.

The Icon offers viewers its annual survey of Bluffton-made products or products that say "Bluffton." These are available at very reasonable prices. Each makes a unique Christmas gift.

Here goes:

Twisted Whisk Cafe, 101 S. Main St., is first place winner in the downtown window decorating contest, announced Paula Scott of the Bluffton chamber. Second place is Polished. Third place is Scoreboard. A story below reveals residential lighting winners. Here's the inside of Twisted Whisk window. The next photo shows the cafe from the street.

Donald "Don" R. Hamilton, 72, died at 5:40 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at Lima Memorial Hospital.  He was born Feb. 22, 1946, in Lima, to Richard J. Hamilton and Helen L. (Edwards) Hamilton Braunagel.  They both preceded him in death. 

On Dec. 21, 1968, he married Susan Malin, and she survives in Waynesfield. 

Don is survived by two daughters, AshLee (Tim) Hamilton McGranor and AuBree (Ryan) Lucas both of Columbus; five grandchildren, Malin, Sylvia, Cyrus, Elliott and Sullivan; and one sister, Kay (Gary) Downing of Columbus Grove.

Home and business owners in Bluffton have competed for best dressed honors and the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce has rewarded them.

Some 40 downtown businesses were invited to decorate and vote in a competition that awards a trophy and bragging rights. The 2018 winners are:
1 - Twisted Whisk Cafe at 101 S. Main
2 - Boutique 415/Polished at 415 N. Main
3 - Scoreboard Sportswear at 111 N. Main.

Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce reminds Bluffton shoppers that chamber gift certificates make great Christmas gifts.

Chamber gift certificates are available from any Citizens National Bank teller. Certificates may be purchased in any dollar amount. The certificates are good for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Luke Denecker is the Bluffton High School December student of the month.

He is the junior class vice president, is a member of the Student Senate, Latin Club and the National Honor Society. He is a member of the Allen Lima Leadership team and is in Ocean Focus. He attends St Mary's Catholic Church and is in its youth group, 

He has received multiple Student of the Year awards throughout high school including Science 9, Latin I, Geometry, Algebra II, World History, Health, and English 9 and 10.
