The Beaverdam Bunch held their last meeting on July 9, 2018. Demonstrations were given by Carter Dyer, Adam Fritsch, Kaitlin Thurmond, Jay Tuttle, Liam Watson, Mackay Tuttle, and Gracie Yarnell. A safety talk was also given by Nathan Hardesty. For the silent auction we are putting in a nail care basket.

Bluffton Public Library presents another FREE Mobile Health Clinic tomorrow from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Meet staff and students of the ONU Healthwise program in their Mobile Health vehicle in the library’s rear parking lot. This clinic offers free screenings for blood pressure, blood glucose, and lipids (please fast for 12 hours prior to your arrival if you wish to participate in the lipids screening) as well as a bone density screening for osteoporosis. Participants may speak with Healthwise students and staff about their results or concerns, and even receive referrals to area doctors.

Swiss Community Historical Society banks on a 1850s barn for its future

That’s how a rural Bluffton Swiss bank barn will be removed and reassembled on the Swiss Community Historical Society’s property on Bixel Road.

When completed, the structure will become the society’s heritage building. There it will be renovated to properly house antiques, artifacts and archives from the Swiss community. It will also serve as a meeting place for the society.
