Mark your calendar for National Night Out in Bluffton. It's Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool. Plans are underway, Watch the Icon for complete details. Free admission to the swimming pool is part of the program.

A community fireworks display sponsored by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce concludes the event.

Here's this year's schedule

Bluffton's Relay for Hope takes place at Bluffton Family Recreation Friday, June 22, from  4 p.m. to midnight with the theme “Hope, Love, Believe, Walk for a Cure,” according to Lynda Best, chair of the event.

Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce's next business after hours takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, according to Paula Scott, chamber CEO.

The event is hosted and sponsored by Southgate Lanes, 9700 Dixie Highway, where it will take place.

This will be a casual gathering with no formal program. Meet and mingle with others from area businesses and organizations.

Courtesy of Southgate Lanes, there will be a free taco bar and music.

 

Bluffton school board has rescheduled its June meeting according to Paula Parish, school treasurer.

The June will will take place at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, in the elementary media center. It was originially scheduled for June 25.

Bluffton council's personnel committee will meet at 6 p.m., Monday, June 25, in the third floor of the town hall, according to Laura Ewing, village fiscal officer.

 

Junior Pirate football camp is the place to be this week. Elementary students are having fun learning football basics, taught by Jeff Richards, varsity football coach, and his staff. Nearly 70 youth came out for the evening camp. More photos follow.
