The Ohio Northern University HealthWise Pharmacy will host a community health carnival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 9. The pharmacy is located in the Robertson-Evans Pharmacy Building at ONU, located at 511 W. Lincoln Ave. in Ada.

The event will allow individuals to learn about their health, play games and win prizes. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Information will be offered on health topics such as high blood pressure, diabetes, sun safety, drug abuse/addiction, immunizations and plans to quit smoking. Further, medication reviews will be offered.

“Live and Learn” lunch presentation

Dr. Vincent McGinniss, an experienced cosmetic and facial plastics surgeon at the Facial Plastic Surgery Center of Northwest Ohio, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System, will be hosting a “Live and Learn” lunch presentation on Thursday, June 26, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

The topic is “Cosmetic & Facial Plastics” and attendees will learn about the options and benefits of aesthetic procedures. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

Which birdie? You'll find these feathered friends in the front lobby of Mennonite Memorial Home. A frequent visitor to the display case is the MMH cat.

No one would disagree with the statement that recycling is important. However, our best intentions do not always result in more being recycled.

In fact, if a non-recyclable item gets put in the recycling container, it could result in the whole batch being put into landfill.

Lima Memorial School of Nursing Alumnae recently awarded college scholarships to two students with Bluffton connections.

The two are:
• Karis Wilson, a graduate of Bluffton High School, who plans to pursue a career in nursing. Wilson is the daughter of Kent and Colleen Wilson.

• Meghan Ream is a graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School and will attend Bluffton University with plans to pursue a career in nursing. Ream is the daughter of Terry Ream and Julie Klaus.
