The Bluffton girls track & field defeated Ada and Fort Jennings in a rainy tri meet Tuesday evening. 

The girls won 13 events in all including all relays.  Here’s a break down of all Pirates that earned team points:

To Buckeye Park and Community Swimming Pool this summer

Several enhancements are planned for Buckeye Park and the Community Swimming Pool this summer.

Bluffton council’s parks and recreation committee met April 18. From that meeting came the following action:

New restrooms
The older restroom on the Spring Street side of the park was removed this winter. A new restroom will be constructed on the northwest side of the shuffleboard courts in the vicinity of BFR’s outdoor soccer fields. Bids will go out in June with an anticipated July construction start date.

BFS Kid's Night Out same night as BHS Athletic Boosters reverse raffle

This message is to parents, especially those planning to attend the Bluffton Athletic Boosters reverse raffle in May:

The next Bluffton Family Recreation kid’s night out is Saturday, May 5, from 5 to 11 p.m. It’s the same night as the reverse raffle, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

Open to youth ages 4 to 12, it provides many Disney-themed activities and games. Kids are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Disney character.

Bluffton eighth grader Ethan Bogart is the overall winner in a Lima Elks Lodge essay contest. The contest theme was "Why our veterans are America's heroes." Ethan is a student in Robin Ault's language arts class. His winning essay follows.

(BLUFFTON) - The boys tennis squad fell to Elida Monday evening by a 3-1 count.   The first doubles match was suspended by rain and not resumed.  Justin Haggard improved to 8-0 on the season with a near sweep of his Bulldog opponent.  

1st Singles : Justin Haggard defeated Tyler Christoff 6-0, 6-1

2nd Singles : Christian Groman lost to Sebastian Kunkleman 6-0, 6-0

3rd Singles : Drew Wilson lost to Riley Fricke 6-1, 6-4

(BLUFFTON) - Columbus Grove’s jumped on Bluffton’s baseball team early and held on for a 5-3 Northwest Conference victory Monday.  The loss sends Bluffton to 3-7 overall and 1-4 in NWC play. 

The Bulldogs put up two runs in the top of the first inning as they staked a lead they would not relinquish.  Bluffton starting pitcher Dakota Bricker settled in for the next few innings before Grove plated two more in the fourth to break a 2-2 tie.
