It's the Week of the Young Child, and Bluffton Child Development Center students celebrate. Something special takes place each day. Tuesday was Teddy Bear's tea. Student brought a teddy bear or other favorite stuffed friend. The tea was lemonade. Two students in the 4-year-old class show their stuffed friends.
(Well, when it comes to incorporating and eating more veggies in your diet…..YES!)
Spring is in the air….Well, kind of. LOL
It’s that wonderful time of year when we look forward to everything coming to life again. Flowers blooming. Gardens being planted. Grass growing (well, unless you don’t like mowing). If you are like me, this comes with mixed feelings. I love all the possibilities of spring, but quickly feel overwhelmed by all there is to do.
The Board of Et Cetera Shop, Inc., invites the public to an open house at the Peerless Glove Factory, 327 N. Main St., Bluffton, on Friday, April 20, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
"Come and get a look at the old glove factory before it becomes the new location of the local Et Cetera Shop," said Arman Habegger, Et Cetera board chair.
"Renovation will not yet have begun, but we will have some illustrations of how the new store may appear. Some of you may have photos from the building’s earlier operation as a glove factory, and we would welcome seeing those."

Dr. Jonathan Andreas, associate professor of economics, opened the Civic Engagement lecture at Bluffton University with a simple question: “What makes the world go round?”
“I’m an economist, and I am here to tell you that it is not money,” joked Andreas. Instead, Andreas believes notions of honor hold societies together. “Without some amount of honor, capitalism would fall apart.”
The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce announces its next business after hours event, according to Paula Scott, CEO.
The event is from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, at Sycamore Lake Wine Co., 9660 Mayberry Road, Columbus Grove.
"This event is a casual gathering with no formal program. Meet and mingle with others from area businesses and organizations. Free appetizers will be served," said Scott.
