Local ragtime and blues guitarist Matt Keeler will perform at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 27, in the Bluffton Town Hall Concert Series.

 Keeler has t1- years experience teaching music in the Catholic schools of Putnam County. He has taught private guitar and saxophone lessons for nearly 20 years.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Bluffton University (’99) and a master's degree in musicology (ethnomusicology) from Bowling Green State University (’05).

42-40 heartbreaker vs. Grove

-The first time Bluffton and Columbus Grove met in Girls basketball this season, Columbus Grove came away with a double overtime win. The second meeting looked to be headed the same way. But the Bulldogs made a layup with two seconds left to defeat the Pirates 42–40. The loss ends Bluffton’s season at 17-7. (see.www.blufftonpirates.com)

University biology and pre-med major involved in cancer research at NIH

Dean Walters, a Bluffton University senior biology and pre-medicine major from Avon, Ohio, spent this past summer in Rockville, Md., researching cancer with the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, the newest branch of the National Institutes of Health.

Laura (Green) Bellman graduated from Bluffton in 2003. She received her nursing degree from Rhodes State College in Lima. She is married to Bernard (Bernie) Bellman, who graduated from Bath in 2002, and they have two children, Henry, age 4, and Marie 2.

I've seen you around town in scrubs. What do you do and where do you work?
I am a registered nurse and I work at Blanchard Valley Dialysis in Findlay.

Newsletter lists activities for rural Pandora farm

The Quarry Farm Nature Preserve and Conservation Farm, rural Pandora, has several spring and summer activities planned. These range from wildflower walks, golden snitch walks, puppetry workshops and additional nature-related activities.

Bridge Bereavement Services will offer a workshop for understanding grief on Friday, March 9, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Birchaven Village in the Wenner Room, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay. The event is for individuals 18 years of age and older who would like to learn more about the grief process. 

This workshop will help participants identify essential physical, emotional, cognitive, social and spiritual actions that will aid in healing.
