St. John Mennonite Church March 17-18

St. John Mennonite Church mission festival March 17 and 18 features Dan Wolgemuth, president of Youth for Christ-USA.

Wolgemuth will share about the ministry of Youth for Christ. In addition, other area mission organizations will be represented.

The weekend schedule follows:
• Saturday, March 17 - Men’s and women’s breakfast, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., in the church gymnasium.
• Sunday, March 18 – 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. service

Mothers of Preschools (MOPS) will hold a mom-to-mom spring sale in early March.

The sale is from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 3, at Ebenezer Mennonite Church gymnasium, 8905 Columbus Grove Road, Bluffton.

Also at the sale is a bake sale by donation. Collection of non-perishable food for the Bluffton Food Pantry will also take place.

Admission is free.

It’s TRX Demo Week at Bluffton Family Recreation.

Demonstrations for six different TRX (Total-body Resistance Exercise) are scheduled at BFR, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton.

High powered, rapid fire weapons, be they rifles or hand guns, are not needed by hunters or citizens.

Tragically they are used over and over again at schools, churches, malls, entertainment venues, work places and even military bases to kill people. It was only in 2008 in Justice Antonin Scalia’s 5-4 Supreme Court opinion that it was determined for the first time in our country’s history that the Second Amendment provided protection for the individual’s right to own guns.

ArtSpace/Lima will host the 30th Annual Kewpee High School Art Invitational from Feb. 23 to April 7, according to Bill Sullivan, operations manager.

The exhibit, which will feature cash awards, includes works in various categories, including sculpture, ceramics, photography, painting, digital media, printmaking, mixed media,  jewelry, and drawing.
