Many are shocked to learn that slavery is more prevalent in 2018 than in the years prior to 1865. 

The International Labor Organization estimates that there are approximately 21 million people trapped in Human Trafficking world-wide and it is estimated that several million people in the U.S. are victims of trafficking.  The proceeds from sex trafficking and forced labor generate over $150 billion annually.  This past year over 200 cases have been investigated in Ohio (the 4th largest caseload in the country).

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's basketball team was back on its home court for the fourth time in six days against Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday, Jan. 3. With the lead changing hands nine times, the Beavers were able to pull off an 85-78 overtime win over the Lions. Bluffton improved to 9-3 (4-1 HCAC) while MSJ dropped to 7-5 (3-2 HCAC).

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The offense sputtered at Mount St. Joseph as the Bluffton University men came up on the wrong end of a 62-41 final at Cincinnati on a cold Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018. Bluffton fell to 5-7 and 2-3 in the Heartland Conference, while MSJ upped its mark to 8-4 and 5-0 in the conference.

Several Bluffton eighth graders donate lunch money to Meals til Monday

Bluffton 8th grade students recently participated in Meals til Monday's Miss a Meal Program, according to Dan Smith, 7th and 8th grade math teacher.

Meals til Monday is a local organization that provides meals on the weekend to school children whose primary source of good nutrition is school lunches.

Bluffton 8th graders were encouraged to pack their lunch and donate the money they would have spent to Meals til Monday.

Students were able to donate $79.
