Here’s a December update from the elementary:
• Christmas concert – Monday, Dec. 11, 1:30 p.m. BHS gym. If cancelled due to weather, rescheduled for Monday, Dec. 18
Icon viewers have the opportunity to nominate Bluffton’s George or Georgina Bailey during the holiday season.
George, (James Stewart in the movie "It's a Wonderful Life") had a special gift, according to his guardian angel. In the movie, George gets his wish of wanting to never be born. Then he sees all the things that never happened in his town because he wasn’t there to affect things.
The Icon Invites viewers to nominate Bluffton’s George Bailey, or if a woman, Georgina.
PrimeTimers will meet at noon, Tuesday, Dec. 5, at St. John Mennonite Church, rural Pandora.
PrimeTimers is a non-denominational, community fellowship gathering for adults 55 and over hosted at the church.
The special Christmas meal this month will include appetizers, apple/cranberry stuffed chicken, au gratin potatoes, green beans w/bacon and almonds, rolls and red velvet swirled cheesecake.
The program features dinner music provided by Nancy Glick playing the harp.
Bluffton University is searching for a new head coach for its women’s soccer program following the resignation of Rhonda Smith. Coach Smith served for three seasons as Bluffton’s head coach. She recently married and will relocate to Michigan.
“We will begin a search for a new coach immediately,” said Phill Talavinia, Bluffton’s athletics director. “I want to thank Rhonda for her leadership with the team and wish her all the best.
Bluffton University will present its 122nd performance of Handel’s “Messiah” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10.
New this year, the venue is Yoder Recital Hall. Tickets will be required. While the tickets are free, they must be reserved at http://tickets.bluffton.edu or at Marbeck Center. A free-will offering will be taken for music scholarships.
