Skyler Noble, a 2015 Bluffton High School graduate, was one of four new deputies sworn in as members of the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. The event was Nov. 15.

In addition to Noble, other deputies sworn in were Ryan Bullinger, Alan Ogle and Evan Thomas. Matt Treglia, Allen County sheriff, sworn in the four.

Sheriff Treglia says that the hiring process for sheriff deputies is different from the past. It now includes psychological tests, polygraph tests and a physical fitness evaluation.

Those three words filed the middle school cafetorium earlier this month as the Bluffton High School post-prom committee put on the event as a fund-raiser.

The evening included games, gift baskets, a 50/50 drawing and other prizes. For a list of event sponsors click here.

Andre Gilbert, MD, at Blanchard Valley Urology Associates received his Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from the University of Toledo in August of 2017.

Dr. Gilbert shared, “I began law school in an effort to challenge myself while learning about a new profession, but I am committed to my first calling and will continue to provide exceptional care to patients requiring urological services.”

The Wednesday, Nov. 22, special Bluffton council meeting regarding the proposed establishment of an Energy Special Improvement District (ESID) by the Toledo/ Lucas County Port Authority has been cancelled, according to Jack Huber, village administrator.

It will be rescheduled for some time in early December.

A second special council meeting previously scheduled for 8 p.m. on Nov. 22 is now pushed back to 7 p.m.. That special council meeting is for the fiscal year 2018 budget.

Saturday and Sunday on the middle school stage.

It’s bedtime stories you’ve never heard performed by the BHS Drama Club.

The play's actual title is "Bedtime Stories (As Told by Our Dad) (Who Messed them Up). Performances are 7:30 p.m., (doors open 6:30 p.m.), Saturday, Nov. 18, and 2 p.m. (doors open 1 p.m.), Sunday, Nov., 19, in the Bluffton Middle School cafetorium.

General admission tickets are available at the door, $4 for adults and $1 for students.
