Friday's breakfast also has Veterans Day recognition, Farmers' Market report and Blaze of Lights update

Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce members will hear about the Bluffton police department K-9 unit during Friday's chamber breakfast, according to Paula Scott, interim director.

Breakfast is served from 7 to 7:30 a.m. The meeting is at 7:30 a.m., in the third floor of the town hall, 154 N. Main St.

Also on the program is a Veterans Day recognition, report about this year's Farmers' Market and a Blaze of Lights update.

Bluffton  played a great game, but ended up giving the lead to the Cridersville Rams in the few remaining minutes of the contest.  The final score was Cridersville 7
- Bluffton 6.

Bluffton University was highlighted in a new study by The Student Loan Report for its participation in the Federal Work-Study program.

The study ranks Bluffton 78 out of more than 400 private institutions who offer Federal Work-Study jobs to students on campus. This program is enormously beneficial to students looking for ways to limit student debt and gain work experience within their degree field.

ArtSpace/Lima announces Home for the Holidays 2017 art sale, held Nov. 10 through Dec. 22,according to Bill Sullivan, operations manager.
 
For the fifth consecutive year, ArtSpace will host the art sale, featuring all original art from local artists and craftspersons. Works in 2D (paintings, watercolors, collage, prints, drawings) and 3D (sculpture, ceramics, glass) will be on display, as well as a large selection of hand-crafted jewelry.  All the art is one-of-a-kind and original.

Bluffton Family Recreation wants your shoes! BRR is in the midst of a repurpose your shoes "shoe drive." To date, over 2,570 pairs are collected. BFR has a goal of 6,250 pairs and hopes to attain that by Dec. 1 when the drive ends. For more details on how you can donate to the drive, click here. The thermometer shows over 110 bags of shoes (25 pair per bag) is collected so far.

Free checks of blood pressure, bone density screen, cholesterol screen, blood glucose, vaccinations

Greg's Pharmacy, 126 N. Main St., Bluffton, will hold a fall health fair Saturday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to Andrea Williams.

The health fair is provided by the pharmacy and Ohio Northern University. Free services provided include:

• Blood pressure checks
• Bone density screenings
• Cholesterol screening
• Blood glucose testing
• Vaccinations.

Persons interested in accurate cholesterol and blood glucose screenings should fast for 8 hours prior to being screened.
