Post cards, quilts, paintings, cast-iron toys, sock monkeys and lots more hobbies were displayed and shared by 25 Maple Crest elders during its July 23 biennial hobby show.
New to this year’s show were “works in progress” by three residents – Genevieve Fast knitted a scarf, Joanne Niswander took stitches in her latest needlepoint piece, and Carl Wolf demonstrated the art of coloring a mandala.
Evelyn Luginbuhl, Gregg Luginbuhl and Tim Byers have a laugh with John Murray at the Maple Crest elders hobby show. Murray showed his collection of Bluffton photos. One of the photos included Murray as Santa Claus with a very young Gregg Luginbuhl on his lap.

What do Ada, Ohio, and abstract expressionism have in common?
The Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary is hosting a basket raffle now through Monday, July 29, with all the proceeds benefiting the Northwest Ohio Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
The Auxiliary will raffle off 20 baskets and these are all on display in the front lobby of the Bluffton Hospital. The baskets retail in value from $50 to $320. Tickets are $1 per chance. Some of the items include Cincinnati Reds Tickets, Columbus Crew tickets, area gift cards, pampering baskets, and different themed baskets.
