The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce offers two programs open to the public in the third floor of the town hall on Friday morning, Feb. 15.

 

7:30 a.m. breakfast sponsored by Richland Manor
(Breakfast serving begins at 7 a.m.)

Richland Manor is this month's breakfast sponsor and program provider.

The chef-prepared meal will feature: cheese omelets, sausage links, fruit parfaits, orange juice and coffee.

A "battle of the badges" charity fundraiser is planned for Sunday, April 7, at 3 p.m. in the Bluffton High School gym.

The battle will be a basketball game between the Bluffton Police Department and the Bluffton Fire Department. Watch for details coming.

The Bluffton Lions Club, for the first time ever, is offering two $500 scholarships to 2013 graduating seniors in area schools.

The scholarships will be paid directly to the school or college where the winning students will be enrolled.

Applications for these scholarships may be obtained through the guidance counselors either in Bluffton, Pandora-Gilboa or Cory-Rawson School Districts. Those completed applications received by April 16, 2013, will be considered.

Office of Advocacy Issues Report on the Small Business Economy

The economic environment is turning around for America’s small businesses despite some lingering challenges from the recession that hit the nation in 2008-2009, according to a new report released today by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Advocacy, an independent office that serves as the voice for small business within the federal government.

Jamil, what year did you graduate from Bluffton High School?  Can you share some memories you have of school or growing up in Bluffton?

I graduated in 1995 from BHS.  What I remember most is the fantastic teachers we had. It seemed all of them truly had a passion for teaching and wanted to make a difference.  Mr. Brown was especially entertaining and engaging with his experiments.
