Bluffton Hospital will host a two-day bake sale and an all week gift shop sale next week.

The bake sale is in the hospital conference room Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 16-17 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The hospital gift shop will hold a "big blow-out sale," featuring Black Friday prices. The sale runs Monday, Nov. 14, through Friday, Nov. 18, hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The sale includes OSU items, Christmas items, jewelry, money soap and Woodwick items all 20 percent off.

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recently announced the All-HCAC honorees for the 2011 season. Senior Dan Saville (Toledo/Central Catholic) was tabbed as a second team selection for his work at keeper this season.

A meeting of the Village of Bluffton's Fire and Rescue Committee has been scheduled for Monday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. on the third floor of the Bluffton Town Hall prior to the regularly scheduled village council meeting.

Six Bluffton University students were among more than 30 students from Mennonite institutions who met in New York City Oct. 27-29 for a conference focused on peacemaking in countries plagued by conflict.

"Constructing Nationhood: Civil Society, National Government, and the International Community" was the theme of this year's Mennonite Central Committee United Nations Office Seminar. The annual conference-attended by Bluffton students every year since it began 16 years ago-aims to raise awareness of important world issues.

Bluffton University's weeklong celebration of gospel music will wrap up Saturday evening, Nov. 12, with a 6 p.m. concert featuring nine choirs in Founders Hall.

The roughly 200 voices singing in the concert will close it at about 7:15 p.m. with a combined performance of "Shine the Light" by Dr. Raymond Wise, the week's guest musician.
