The Icon spotted this 1950 Ohio license plate at the Lions' Festival of Wheels. In 1950 the inflation rate was 1.09%, the average cost of a new house was $8,450, the average wage was $3,210.

The cost of a gallon of gas was 18 cents. The average cost of a new car was $1,500. A black and white television cost $249.

Bluffton's weather is starting to resemble lopsided basketball scores. Highs in the 90s and lows in the 60s. Yesterday's rainfall in Pandora, according to Guy Verhoff, was recorded at 1.46 inches.

One Bluffton source reported 2.2 inches of rainfall in Bluffton.

The Bethel Church of Christ will host a Bluffton Block Party on Saturday, Aug. 13 from 5-8 p.m. at the Riley Creek Mercantile parking lot located at 246 Cherry St.

There will be live music, food and activities for the kids. The community is invited to bring lawn chairs and join us for an evening of family entertainment.

In the eyes of Bluffton's police golf carts on the golf course are simply golf carts. Golf carts on village streets will soon be recognized as vehicles. That means golf cart drivers will abide by all state laws governing vehicles.

The laws include seat belt requirements on all golf carts. It includes car seats for youngsters. Council passed the first reading of the ordinance on July 11.
