The Lady Pirates dropped to 4-2 overall and 0-1 in the NWC with the defeat. Unbeaten Jefferson improved to 6-0 and 2-0 in the NWC after the victory.

Lauren Samuel, a Bluffton area Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, didn’t ever expect to start her own business but knew that she wanted to do one-on-one counseling. “I got my first job at WIC and I’m still working there part-time,”she explains. However, it was clear to her: “If I want to do my dream job as a dietician, I’m going to have to start my own business.”

That business is Embrace Mind & Body Wellness LLC, which she created in 2020. In addition to providing general nutrition guidance, Samuel helps clients adopt more intuitive eating practices and shows women how to manage the symptoms of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) through diet.

The “Usual Suspects” acoustic guitar and vocal trio of Bob Beer, Charlie Saylor, and Eric Shellenbarger grew out of jam sessions held at Bluffton Public Library in pre-COVID days. More recently the group plus musical friends have played song circle-style at the Bluffton Senior Center at 2:30 p.m. on first and third Wednesdays. Some folks just come to listen and throw in a request or two. The next session is December 22.
