Landon Armstrong is the September Student of the Month at Bluffton High School. Landon is a junior and has a 4.000 GPA. His parents are Andy and Natalie Armstrong of Bluffton. Landon is involved in Latin Club, Math Club, Ocean Focus and National Honor Society. He is a member of the Cross Country Team, Swim Team and Track team. Last year he was a state qualifier in track.
In his spare time he likes to play disc golf, run and build computers. After graduation he would like to attend college and pursue a medical degree as a nurse practitioner.
Donald E. Kimmet, 84, of Ottawa, passed away at 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Meadows of Ottawa. Don was born May 13, 1937 in Van Wert County to the late Hilary and Grace (Slattery) Kimmet. On June 2, 1962 he married Shirlie A. Lucke, she survives in Ottawa. Don was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa.
Athletic Director Alex Hanna has issued an online presentation for parents of athletes participating in winter sports at Bluffton High School (Ohio). The 2021-22 Winter Sport Player-Parent Meeting can be viewed at https://youtu.be/akF41jn8U4c.
Hanna notes: Due to such a large overlap of fall and winter sports it is difficult to find an open date. Our individual winter sport coaches will be in touch with sport specific information. They will likely have an in-person meeting or simply send information with your athlete.

University Trick Or Treat: October 28
Bluffton University residence halls will host 3 locations for trick or treating on October 28: outside of Bren-Dell Hall, Mosiman Hall and Hirschy Hall. University students will be dressed up in costumes and eager to hand out candy.
Bluffton University’s Lion and Lamb Peace Arts Center will host an open house to celebrate 35 years of promoting peace and justice, cultural understanding and nonviolence. The event will take place from 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22.
The come and go event will include light refreshments and free resources. Masks must be worn inside buildings on campus.
