The Bluffton volleyball team competed in the rugged eight-team Minster Invitational Saturday, September 25.

The Lady Pirates won one of three matches to run their record to 10-5 this season.

Eventual tournament champion West Liberty-Salem beat the Pirates 25-15, 25-14 in their first match.

Kylie Stackhouse led the Pirates with six kills, while Ayla Grandey knocked down five kills.

Skyler Scoles dished up 17 assists while Haelyn Bischoff served two aces. 

Sophie Bricker came up with eight digs, while Kylie Monday added five digs.

The Bluffton Public Library is distributing an "It's a Hoot Kids' Take & Make" craft  starting September 25 at the youth services desk or via curbside pick-up while supplies last.

LIBRARY VISITS

The University of Findlay recently welcomed new undergraduate and graduate students to campus for fall 2021. New students began their studies at UF on Aug. 16.

Local students include:

Simon Derstine, of Bluffton, 45817, is pursuing a degree in business administration.

Haleigh Gatchel, of Bluffton, 45817, is pursuing a doctor of pharmacy degree.

Haley Baker, of Bluffton, 45817, is pursuing a doctor of pharmacy degree.

Kennedi Jordan, of Bluffton, 45817, is pursuing a degree in early childhood education.

The following public notice was submitted by Jesse Blackburn, Village Administrator:

A Public Hearing before the Village of Bluffton Planning Commission has been scheduled for Monday, September 27 at 5:30 pm on the third floor of the Town Hall. This hearing will involve the following matters:

Discussion and action on a standing motion to recommend to Village Council their approval of the request by Bob Fett to construct a planned unit development (PUD) as a residential development of less than ten acres.  

Bluffton Cars & Coffee for September 25, 2021 has been cancelled due to inclement weather.

The next gathering of car and motorcycle enthusiasts will be on October 23 at 902 N. Main St.
