Women are invited to circle on Saturday, July 31 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at St. John's UCC in Bluffton, Ohio (223 W. College Avenue).

Circle is hosted by Katherine Beckett and Corrie Reed, graduates of the Wellstreams Program for Spiritual Formation and the Art of Spiritual Direction.

What is in a pattern? Is there a science behind patterns? The shell of a snail is a great example of how nature contains patterns that can be explained by math. The pattern found in a snail's shell can be explained by a phenomenon known as Fibonacci numbers. In addition, our brains naturally attempt to combine information to form patterns to make decisions quickly. With repeated exposure to information, our brain tries to simplify decisions by forming patterns.

Jean Hanff Korelitz's ("The Devil and Webster") new novel is a book within a book. It is all about how mothers and daughters come to reckon with each other when the girl grows up and wants to leave the parent's home. It is all about the circumstances around babies not wished to be born. It's a scathing examination of a mother's, and daughter's, needs in life and how to get them.

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will welcome new member-investor Bluffton Lantern Nutrition with a ribbon cutting ceremony at noon on Saturday, July 24.

The new shop in Tommy's Plaza, 142 E Jefferson, serves "best tasting healthy smoothies and healthy fruity energy drinks." Owners Jennifer and Jeffrey Putman will also host a grand opening celebration with extended hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the day of the ribbon cutting.
