One of the more popular evening programs of the year returns to Bluffton following a covid-19 year-off.
Bluffton Family Recreation brings back “Dueling for Dumbbells.” The program is from 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 7, at BFR, 215 Snider Road, according to Daniel Tinch.
This summer's program takes place outdoors at BFR. Meals from Bubba C begin serving at 6 p.m. The program begins at 7 p.m.
The fund-raiser event includes a full dinner provided by Bubba C’s barbecue. Tickets are $50 each and are now available at BFR.

St. Mary’s Christian Preschool of Bluffton is one of eight Allen County faith communities to receive a $500 award from the Activated Faith Community Challenge.
The Challenge is a partnership between Activate Allen County and West Central Ohio Health Ministries, according to Josh Unterbrink, co-director of Activate Allen County.
The Activated Faith Community Challenge is an opportunity for faith-based organizations to increase their support of the health and well-being of their constituents.
Trevor Bassitt, former Bluffton High School track and field standout, now at Ashland University has qualified to compete in the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials on Thursday. He competes in the 400 hurdles. Click here for the complete story.
A little more than a week ago, Ashland University senior and former Bluffton High School athlete Trevor Bassitt couldn't go in any preliminary of the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships due to injury.
Bassitt rallied enough physically to help the Eagle men tie for fourth place nationally as a team, and anchor the winning 4x400-meter relay at Grand Valley State prior to Memorial Day.
