Alec Yoder, grandson of Alan and Diann Yoder, will compete in men's gymnastics

Alec Yoder, grandson of Alan and Diann Yoder, will compete this week for a spot on the U.S. men’s gymnastics team that will compete at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The 2019 Ohio State graduate is the son of Mike and Rebecca Yoder, and nephew of Mark and Julie Yoder.

Yoder is in St. Louis, Mo., for the U.S. Olympic Trials, which take place June 24 and June 26 at the America’s Center Convention Complex and The Dome at America’s Center.

Bluffton Family Recreation summer kid's adventure camp's focus this week is Bluffton history and businesses. Campers will visit the fire station, town hall and will learn about the village. Next week's camp theme "Wacky Water" has openings for campers. Contact BFR at 419-358-4150 to register your child.

Tickets now on sale for BFR fund-raiser on Aug. 7

One of the more popular evening programs of the year returns to Bluffton following a covid-19 year-off.

Bluffton Family Recreation brings back “Dueling for Dumbbells.” The program is from 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 7, at BFR, 215 Snider Road, according to Daniel Tinch.

This summer's program takes place outdoors at BFR. Meals from Bubba C begin serving at 6 p.m. The program begins at 7 p.m.

The fund-raiser event includes a full dinner provided by Bubba C’s barbecue. Tickets are $50 each and are now available at BFR.

A common myth is the risk of sterility for both men and women who receive the COVID-19 vaccines available in the United States

Many myths about COVID-19 infections, as well as COVID-19 vaccines can be found on social media. It is very hard to debunk myths on social media once they get started and unfortunately, there are many myths about the COVID-19 vaccine.

Yes, this is not really new since we have been talking about these myths for over a year. However, you still hear reasons for not getting the vaccine on a daily basis that are truly myths.

You will find this on a plaque on the building at the corner of Main and Vine, specifically 125 N. Main St.

One of eight recognized in Activated Faith Community Challenge

St. Mary’s Christian Preschool of Bluffton is one of eight Allen County faith communities to receive a $500 award from the Activated Faith Community Challenge.

The Challenge is a partnership between Activate Allen County and West Central Ohio Health Ministries, according to Josh Unterbrink, co-director of Activate Allen County.

The Activated Faith Community Challenge is an opportunity for faith-based organizations to increase their support of the health and well-being of their constituents.
