27 volunteers counting walkers, joggers, bikers on Bluffton's pathway

Your appearance on one of Bluffton’s nine pathways next week will be counted.

Don’t worry about it. It’s part of an annual “use count” of the Bluffton pathways, taking place from Monday through Sunday, May 10 to 16..

This is the 10th year for the annual May and September Bluffton Use pathway count.

Each year the study shows the use of the Bluffton paths has increased,” said Dick Ramseyer, president of the Bluffton Lions Foundation and chair of the Bluffton pathway board.

Of the 33 critical access hospitals in Ohio, only 9 continue to offer labor and delivery services

Babies will no longer be delivered at Bluffton Hospital.

Instead, labor and delivery services, which moved to Findlay in December due to the covid-19 pandemic, will remain in Findlay.

The announcement made today, May 7, from Blanchard Valley Health System follows:

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) will maintain the consolidation of labor and delivery services to the Findlay main campus. Bluffton Hospital labor and delivery services temporarily closed in December of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Make yourself aware of these issues, especially when the effects of the problem are more severe in other countries, especially as we are disproportionately responsible for the problem

Allen East comes to town today

LIMA - The Bluffton baseball team was shut out at former league foe Lima Central Catholic 11-0 Thursday evening.

The county rivalry loss dropped the Pirate record to 0-20 this spring. 

Bluffton's postponed league game Monday at home vs. local rival Allen East (16-7, 3-3 NWC) is rescheduled for Friday, May 7.

Bluffton (0-6 NWC) also plays a makeup league game at Columbus Grove (8-9, 4-3 NWC) Wednesday, May 12. CG edged Allen East 4-3 Thursday evening.

LIMA - The visiting Bluffton softball team upset Lima Central Catholic 10-5 in a non-league contest Thursday evening.

The Lady Pirates improved to 6-12 with their second straight win. 

The Pirate girls scored one or two runs in six of the seven innings, plating at least once in every frame except the second.

Bluffton pushed across single runs in the first and seventh innings. The Pirate girls also scored twice in each of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth frames to extend the lead to 9-3.
