After a one-year absence, those who enjoy fishing can head for the Buckeye and cast nets for more than 200 tagged trout on Sunday, May 2.
Trout number one is worth thousands in cash if caught during derby hours, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. The jackpot is built up with $5 donations to a 50/50 drawing.
If caught on derby day, one half of the cash jackpot goes to the angler who catches number one. The other half goes to the person whose raffle ticket is drawn at the end of the derby.
A senior breakfast returns in May in an outdoor format, according to Greg Denecker, Bluffton school superintendent.
Bluffton schools will host a senior citizen breakfast performance with the BHS jazz band at 8:30 a.m., Friday, May 14, in the Middle School parking lot.
“If we have inclement weather, we will move the event inside the cafetorium with masks and social distancing, said Denecker.
Due to weather-related issues, the ramp closures on U.S. 30 at State Route 235 have been postponed, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The work was originally scheduled for Monday, May 3. The work will be rescheduled for later in the construction season.
Max Long, VP, Core Administrator and Security Officer at First National Bank is retiring today, April 30.
Long began his career with First National Bank at the Pandora office in 2018 and has over 35 years of experience in banking. He has previously worked for Diamond Savings and Loan Company, Bank One Lima, and The Union Bank Co.
He supported the loan and deposit operations department and was responsible for the core operation system at FNB. Max and his wife, Theresa, reside in Lima and have two children and one grandchild.
