Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted provided the following updates on Ohio's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
PHASE 1B TIMELINE
Governor DeWine reemphasized the vaccine distribution timeline for Phase 1B of Ohio's vaccination program, which is set to begin next week with those ages 80 and older.
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Allen County Engineer's Office have completed the initial scope for the repair of the Slabtown Road bridge over U.S. 30, which closed in December due to a bridge strike.
The tentative schedule for the repairs sets construction to begin as early as mid-April and will take approximately 60 days to complete.

And most people don't keep their resolutions for very long, either. Research has shown that Jan. 12 is the day New Year's resolutions tend to falter.
Blanchard Valley Health System initiated distribution of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to healthcare workers at Bluffton Hospital. Paul Siefker, director of operations at Blanchard Valley Medical Practices, receives his vaccine from Renee Matthews, clinical manager at Bluffton. Additional deliveries of the vaccine are expected for Bluffton healthcare associates. BVHS is not providing the vaccine, only distributing it within the health system according to state and federal guidelines.
On Monday, following an executive session to discuss contracts, Bluffton council rescinded earlier action that awarded a contract for Jefferson Street Project Phase II.
The rescinded contract was passed during a special meeting held Jan. 4., and was awarded to Helms and Sons Excavating Inc., Findlay. It was initially considred as a first reading, but was changed and passed as an emergency reading.
Monday’s action followed a protest from one of the bidders of the project.
