Bridge Hospice, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System, will host its annual “Light Up a Life” tree-lighting ceremonies in Bowling Green and Findlay in December. 

Through a tree-lighting and candle-lighting ceremony, loves ones who have passed will be honored. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Bowling Green ceremony is Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 5:30 p.m. in the Georgian Room at Heritage Corner, located at 1069 Klotz Road, Bowling Green.

The Findlay ceremony is Thursday, Dec. 5, at 5:30 p.m. in The Chapel at Birchaven Village,15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay.

Jodi and Don Brauen will hold Brauen's Gourds Christmas open house this weekend.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, at 7140 Tom Fett Road, Bluffton.

Pirates ran out to a 47-18 halftime bulge and cruised to victory

FT. JENNINGS - The visiting Bluffton girls basketball team built a big early lead and easily beat winless Fort Jennings 63-44 in a non-league game this past Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Pirates ran out to a 47-18 halftime bulge and cruised to victory.

The Pirate girls improved to 2-1 with the blowout victory, while FJ fell to 0-4 with the defeat.

The victors ran out to a 23-12 lead after one period. Bluffton then put the game away with a season-best 24-point second stanza while limiting FJ to just six points.
