Erik Nygaard, freshman, was the top Bluffton HS boy finisher in the Columbus Grove cross country invitational held in late August.
Other BHS runners in order of finish were Elijah Conley, Wyatt Lovell, Sam Derstine and Trey Boblitt. Bluffton defeated Bath, Paulding and Lima Central Catholic at the meet.
Nygaard had an personal best for the season at 18:10.
Rehearsals for Bluffton University’s 124th performance of Handel’s “Messiah” will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays each week from Sept. 24-Dec. 3 in the Gilliom Room of Mosiman Hall on campus.
There are a total of 10 rehearsals, one dress rehearsal and one concert.
Anyone interested in singing, from high school students to adults, is invited to join the chorus, which includes Bluffton students, faculty, staff and community members. There is no cost to participate.

BLUFFTON - Host Bluffton swept non-league local rival Cory-Rawson Thursday evening in volleyball action.
The Lady Pirates improved to 4-2 with the 25-18, 25-9, 25-9 victory.
Kylie Stackhouse knocked down 16 kills and made one block to lead the victors. Taylor Schwab hammered 11 kills, served two aces and came up with 16 digs.
Kylie Monday mustered up 21 digs. Skyler Scoles served up four aces, and Haelyn Bischoff made one block.
Mornings with Mommy, educational play-dates, begin Monday, Sept. 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jenera.
These play-dates are for infants through preschool age children (ages 0-5 years) and an opportunity to meet other moms (or caregivers). These dates continue on the first and third Mondays and Tuesdays of each month from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church, 301 N. Main St., Jenera.
