It's difficult to believe, but in 60 days, or so, lots of people will be sliding down that large blue structure in the background of this construction scene at the Buckeye. If your eyes can't focus correctly it is the circular slide at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool.
Thomas E. Coe, 80, died on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at 6:33 a.m. at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
He was born on Aug. 11, 1938, in Willard, Ohio, to the late James and Corinne (Greer) Coe. On Oct. 17, 1959 Tom married Ann Lowry and she survives in Bluffton.
Tom was an educator for over 30 years for Ada High School and Allen East High School prior to retiring. He was a member of the Ada First United Methodist Church.
Prepare to dance along in your seat during Bluffton University’s Jazz Ensemble and Gospel Choir concert at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 6, in Yoder Recital Hall. The performance is free and open to the public; however, a free-will offering will be taken during intermission for music scholarships.
Canvassers will knock on Bluffton voter doors this week asking for signatures to place a voter-initiative on the November ballot.
The effort intends to replenish the Ohio Local Government Fund. If enough signatures are gathered and voters agree, the initiative places a surcharge on all Ohio vehicle owners who have vanity license plates, specialty plates, historical vehicle plates and motorcycle plates.
Although not yet confirmed, surcharge discussions range anywhere from $25 to $75 per plate, depending on the make, model and year of the vehicle, retroactive to 2013.
