The following are Bluffton High School band member solo and ensemble contest resuts from this past Saturday at Lima Senior High. Dave Sycks is the instrumental teacher.

Libby Frazier, alto sax solo, class C - Superior rating

Sophia Gott, flute solo, class A - Excellent rating

Eli Okuley, snare drum solo, class B - Excellent rating

Eli Okuley, piano solo, class A - Good rating

Dylan Hohenbrink, trumpet solo, class C -Good rating

Saxophone Quartet, class B - Superior rating

Normal dismissal time; no 2-year Kindergarten

Bluffton schools moved from a 2-hour delay to a 3-hour delay for Tuesday, Feb. 12, according to Greg Denecker, Bluffton superintendent.

Under the 3-hour delay school will dismiss at the normal time and the 2-year Kindergarten is cancelled.

The announcement was made on Ohio Alerts at 7:39 a.m.

Bluffton HS girls' basketball team defeated Allen East 53-42 in Northwest Conference action on Feb. 11. The Lady Pirates move to 15-5 and 6-1 in the Northwest Conference. Watch www.blufftonpirates.com for more details on the game.

BLUFFTON, Ohio—Dr. Melissa Friesen, Mary Nord Ignat and Joseph Ignat Professor of Theatre and Communication at Bluffton, will present the Colloquium “When Talking is Tough: Image Theatre as a Catalyst for Engagement” at 4 p.m. on Feb. 22 in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall.

Dads and girls just want to have fun

Yes, they danced the night away.

Nearly 90 dancers  – dads of all ages and daughter ranging from 3 to 12 (?) – hit the dance floor and never stopped on Saturday evening at Bluffton Family Recreation.

Dancers from Bluffton, Pandora, Lima, Jenera and elsewhere showed up with at the first-ever dad and daughter dance at BFR.
