Bluffton University men's and women's basketball teams lost to Hanover on Saturday. The men's story is below the women's story.

The Bluffton University women's basketball team lost a high-scoring affair (89-80) on Saturday, Jan. 26, to a talented Hanover team. The loss dropped the Beavers to 6-13 on the season (4-8 HCAC). Hanover improved to 13-6 and 9-3 in the Heartland Conference.
Jordan Stutzman, a senior from Millersburg, Ohio, is Bluffton University’s seventh recipient of a full scholarship to Bowling Green State University’s Master of Accountancy program.
Stutzman has earned the Beaver-Falcon MAcc Scholarship, a Bluffton-Bowling Green partnership that includes a full-tuition award plus a paid graduate assistantship for a Bluffton accounting graduate.
Bluffton Public Library offers its next Janette Reineke art workshop on Thursday, and registration is due on Monday.
The workshop is "Fall Leaf Painting in Winter." The class is held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 31, at the library.
In this class, Janette will teach methods of blending colors to recreate the natural beauty of fall leaves.
Participants will use acrylic paint. Leaves will be provided for inspiration. The class is for adults. It has a $10 cash supply fee payable Thursday. Register by Monday, Jan. 28 at Bluffton Public Library.
Sharon K. Jamison, 73, of Celina and formerly of Bluffton, died Jan. 26, 2019 at Lima Memorial Health System. Arrangements are pending at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.
Justis Dowdy has a long history with Bluffton University. His parents are graduates, so is his sister and brother-in-law and soon he will join their ranks.
“I’m ready to start looking for jobs,” said Dowdy, a senior sports management major and member of the men’s basketball team. “I feel prepared and I owe a lot of that to Coach Neal. He’s helped make me a better man.”
