The Blanchard River Watershed Partnership annual meeting is from 3 to 5 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Hancock Agriculture Center, 7868 County Road 40, Findlay, according to Phil Martin, director.
Aaron Heilers, project director for the Blanchard Demonstration Farms is the featured speaker.
Bluffton University’s Grace Albrecht Gallery will host “Phantoms of Film” by Whitney Goller.
“Phantoms of Film” is a series of oil paintings exploring contemporary American myths. The phantoms to which the show’s title refers are our contemporary monsters. Except, something interesting has happened: we no longer are called to fear the monsters, we are asked instead to understand them.
Opening Oct. 29, the exhibit is free and open to the public through Dec. 6

Just as pads, cleats and jerseys have become essential gear during team practices, Bluffton University football has added a new piece of equipment to its practice lineup—Guardian Caps.
The soft-shell helmet covers can absorb up to 33 percent of the impact in a collision according to the manufacturer and are able to more effectively manage the impact of repetitive and cumulative blows than a helmet alone.
Katie Prater is the September Bluffton High School student of the month.
Katie is a senior this year and has a 4.000 GPA. She is president of the Student Senate, is the Class of 2019 vice president, is a member of the National Honor Society, Renaissance and Latin Club.
She has been on the all A honor roll throughout high school. She received Student of the year in Advanced Math, Chemistry, Algebra and Geometry. Katie was also one of the senior homecoming attendants this year.
The new President of Bluffton University, Dr. Jane Wood, will be the guest speaker at the Lima Rotary Club on Monday, Oct. 22. Dr. Wood began her new duties July 1. She is just the 10th president in the 119-year-history of Bluffton University.
The Lima Rotary Club meets in the North Hall of the Veterans Memorial Civic & Convention Center at 7 Town Square at noon every Monday.
