83 runners in Saturday's run/walk for literacy

Bluffton High School grads Jackson Steinmetz and Tanner Pinks were first and second in the Shirley’s Popcorn and Friends of the Bluffton Public Library run/walk for literacy held on June 22.

The first female runner to finish was Michelle Stein of Lima, who was fifth overall. Her time was 22:09.7

Steinmetz won the 5K in a 17:25.5 with Pinks coming in second at 17:48.3. Eighty-three runners competed.

Bluffton Public Library is supplying free art materials and space for 6th to 12th graders to be creative in the Youth Room from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, June 27. No registration necessary.

Bluffton Family Recreation’s kid’s summer camp registration deadline for next week is this Friday.

July is busy at BFR; sign-up underway

Bluffton Family Recreation offers four sports camps and clinics in July and sign-up is now underway, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

Ages 5-8, 10 a.m.-noon
$15 members; $30 non-members

6-8 grade basketball camp
