Jan Emmert, member of the Bluffton Lions Club, performs a vision screening of an area preschooler. For the sixth year Bluffton Lions screened children’s eyes ages 3 and into kindergarten. CLICK HERE for more information about this project.

“Dr. Hohman’s addition to our staff is huge for Bluffton Hospital,” said Nicki Keuneke, director of operations at the hospital.

Dr. Jennifer Hohman, M.D., pediatric hospitalist, joined the Bluffton Hospital staff this month in a new service offered by the hospital.

She joined the staff on Sept. 4, and is able to admit youth who require hospitalization. Her focus is newborns through 18-year-olds.

In addition, she is in training with Dr. Lorie Thomas to see persons in the Beyond MedSpa at Bluffton. Here, she will handle laser hair removal, laser facials involving removal of age spots and administer Botox injections. Her Beyond MedSpa treatments involve women and men.

Led by Cornerstone of Hope Christian Counseling, Lima

A “family equipping workshop” will take place from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 13, in the lower level of the Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St.

The workshop is most appropriate for parents and their children who are in Kindergarten through fifth grade, according to Cornerstone of Hope Christian Counseling, Lima, the group leading the event.

The cost of the workshop is $25 for families of four or less, $30 for families of five or more.

Underway now through noon Saturday at MMH

As part of Bluffton’s Fall Festival, the Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) Service Group is holding its annual Silent Auction from now through noon Saturday, Sept. 22.  All items are displayed in the Mennonite Memorial Home lobby, 410 W. Elm Street, Bluffton.
