You can now decorate your cake and eat it, too, thanks to Debra Stockford “the cake queen.”
Stockford of Pandora will open The Frosting Studio in Tommy’s Plaza, 142 E. Jefferson St., Bluffton, with a Monday evening open house.
There she will offer cake-decorating classes for all skill levels.
Bethel Church of Christ, 4041 County Road 304, Ada, holds a back-to-school “Urge” event for 7th graders through high school seniors and the public, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 26, at the church.
The event’s focus, according to sponsors, is to encourage students to do well in the upcoming school year and to urge them to be who God wants them to be in their schools.
"Success! We filled the truck for the Lima ReStore," Dan Groman told the Icon as a result of an Aug. 11 "fill the truck" event in Bluffton.
Groman said the success was due to the outpouring of people who dropped off great items that someone else can use. Items collected will be sold at Habitat for Humanity's ReStore, 550 W. Elm St., Lima.
The Bluffton collection project was led by the First United Methodist Church, Bluffton, and Rockport United Methodist Church Missions and Outreach team.

The 2018 business showcase coordinated by the Bluffton Area Chambrer of Commerce in partnership with Bluffton University will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, according to Paula Scott, chamber CEO.
The event is held in the Marbeck Center dining area.
