Bluffton Stone Co. and Bluffton Paving are subsidiaries to The Gerken Co.

Note: Bluffton Stone Company and Bluffton Paving are subsidiaries to The Gerken Co. The parent company has nearly 370 employees in season and span two states. 

In addition to the website, Bluffton Paving has its own LinkedIn page and Gerken has both a LinkedIn and Facebook pages that include updates with Bluffton as well - including the Icon’s recent personal interest story about Jim Motter’s retirement.

The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) announced that Gerken Materials Inc., of Napoleon, is the winner of the 2017 Outstanding Website Award.

First United Methodist and Rock UMC collecting items for Lima's ReStore

Habitat for Humanity's ReStore will hold a "fill the truck" event from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Aug. 11, in the parking lot between Bluffton High School and First Mennonite Church, according to Dan Groman.

Volunteers will accept good, new and used cabinets, sinks, plumbing, building supplies, windows, doors, appliances, office supplies, furniture, electrical, tools, toys and similar items.

The Pandora United Methodist Church will host a free community meal on Wednesday, July 25, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora.  The meal this month is provided by the  Hilty  Home. The menu is chicken salad croissant, baked beans, chips, potato salad, strawberry cake, and beverage.

Wade A. Lehman, 81, died on July 21, 2018, at his residence. He was born Oct. 20, 1936, in Bluffton to the late Peter A. and Eunice (Burkholder) Lehman.  

Wade served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea for 2 years after the Korean War.  He was a member of the Army's traveling basketball team and also

He worked for 30 years at Scotlad/Roundy's foods and was a member of Moose Lodge 199 and Eagles Lodge Aerie 370 both in Lima. 

Wade loved woodworking and often made handcrafted donations to the Mennonite Relief Sale held in Kidron, Ohio.

ArtSpace/Lima announces the opening of ArtSpace/Pops 2018: A Fine Craft Invitational in The Ellen Nelson Gallery, Sunday, July 29.

ArtSpace/Pops 2018 features new works by some of the area’s best craftsmen and -women in a joint showing which builds on the success of its predecessors.  The 2018 edition will be the 8th annual Pops exhibit.  Artists on display work in wood, metal, clay, paper, glass. fabric, and various jewelry-oriented combinations of metals and beads.
