Assists providers in placing hardware, removing cancerous activity

Neurosurgical Associates of Northwest Ohio, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS), recently installed an O-armTM Surgical Imaging System, an intraoperative 2D and 3D imaging system that is used to assist providers in placing hardware, removing cancerous activity and preforming a variety of procedures.

At The Armes Family Cancer Care Center Aug. 9

The Armes Family Cancer Care Center, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System, will offer head, neck and skin cancer screenings to the community on Thursday, Aug. 9, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. These screenings can be scheduled by appointment only at 419-429-6428, and individuals may schedule one or both screenings. These cancer screenings will take place at The Armes Family Cancer Care Center located at 15990 Medical Drive South in Findlay.

Two special education-related recognitions are planned this month at Bluffton Presbyterian Church.

Sunday, Aug. 12 will feature a Back to School Blessing.

"With another fall approaching, it’s time for students, teachers, and staff to return to school. A special Back to School Blessing will be offered during worship on August 12, so that all may prepare for the start of a great year together,” said Rev. Karol Farris, pastor.

Worship on Sunday,  Aug. 19 includes a celebration of College/Young Adult Sunday.

Caitlyn Zimmerman, was selected to attend the Ohio State Fair, Photography Day on July 28.

Her project was “Controlling the Image, Level 2.”  She received an Outstanding of the Day in her project. Her photograph was also selected as one of the “Select Twenty” photographs that will be exhibited at the 2019 Ohio State Fair.

The Bluffton Food Pantry's supplies are running a bit low and could use some reinforcements, according to Ed Yeager, board president of the Bluffton Community Assistance Program.

Item may be delivered to St. John’s United Church of Christ.

Want to watch some fireworks? It takes place at dusk following National Night Out on Tuesday. The Bluffton police will block traffic off at Main Street and Snider Road around 9:25 p.m. until the fireworks is completed, according to Matt Olgesbee, who oversees the NNO.
