Bluffton University presented its top athletics awards April 17 to standout athletes in baseball and softball and a special award given to President James Harder and Karen Klassen Harder.
Ryan Golden of Findlay, Ohio, accepted the A.C. Burcky Award as senior male athlete of the year, while Brittany Huff of Union, Ohio, won the Kathryn E. Little Award as outstanding senior female athlete.
Ed Yeager was named Bluffton Family Recreation volunteer of the year earlier this month, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.
“Ed has helped in several area in the past year,” said Tinch. “His volunteer work includes countless hours working with BFR’s finances and helping wherever he is needed.”
This is the first-ever presentation of a BFR volunteer of the year award. Tinch said that he intends to make in an annual presentation.
Yeager’s award was presented during the Dueling for Dumbbells, an evening fundraiser benefiting BFR.

Farthing Real Estate & Auctioneers, Findlay, will hold an auction involving many antique idtems from the Thomas Hursey collection in Bluffton, at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 28.
The auction is at 357 S. Jackson St., Bluffton. It includes antique furniture, primitives, bottles, jars, guns, glassware, figurines, and other items.
