TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Bluffton University men's basketball team rallied from 16 down for a stunning 73-70 victory at Rose-Hulman on Saturday, Jan. 13. Bluffton won its second straight, improving to 7-8 overall and 4-4 in the Heartland Conference, while Rose slipped to 8-7 and 6-2 in the HCAC. The Beavers snapped RHIT's seven-game winning streak in the process.
Dr. Jonathan Andreas, associate professor of economics at Bluffton University, will present the Colloquium, “Replacing GDP with Median Expected Lifetime Income,” at 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, in Stutzman Lecture Hall.
Andreas will discuss MELI, his potential replacement for Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as the standard measurement for well-being.

Dave Essinger, Bluffton author, will have a book signing for “Running Out,” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, at Book ReViews, 123 S. Main St., Bluffton, according to Dr. Christina Walton, store manager.
Essinger is a runner. He is teaches creative writing at the University of Findlay. His first-ever published novel was released in June of 2017.

Hot Tea Tuesdays are back. Each Tuesday in January and February between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., the library will have hot water, a selection of teas, and a variety of goodies to nibble on as you peruse our collection.
While winter sports leagues in underway at Bluffton Family Recreation, registration is underway for two weekend youth basketball tournaments in early March.
The first is a boys’ 4th to 6th grade tournament. It takes place Saturday and Sunday, March 3-4. Team registration deadline is Feb. 4.
The second is a girls’ 4th to 6th grade tournament held Saturday and Sunday, March 10-11. Team registration deadline is Feb. 11.

Kathy Keller launched Blufton Center for Entrepreneurs' Talk Back series on Thursday evening at Twisted Whisk. The next program is from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 18. Rachel Davis, past BCE business plan winner and owner of Studio Silhouette, is the featured speaker. The series is free and open to the public.
